What's new in Trimble NIS 18.2?

12/19/2018

The Trimble NIS main version 18.2 has been released. Several nice features have been developed further to provide the users with even more benefits in their work. Here are some of our favorite Highlights.

Network planning on the go

It’s now possible to add notes to network plans also in the field. With Utility To Go, you can add notes related to planning, sketch an alternative route, and take photos to support further planning.

Manage your tasks and resources

Task and resource management is now complemented with advanced support for outage management in the electricity network. You can streamline the fault management process with automation that, for instance, creates tasks for all ongoing LV and MV outages. Field work is further facilitated by the new Trimble DMS interface that enables phone calls received from the field to be automatically directed to the correct switching supervisor.

Service break communication from the field

View the real-time states of gas network valves and service breaks in the field using Utility To Go. You can also open and close valves to automatically send service break messages to customers. At the same time, you can update the service break information in the service break map. You can see the real-time state of the valve also in Trimble NIS.

Product model extensions

It’s now possible to add accessories to several objects, for example, to a substation or transformer. The accessories are used for modeling additional information related to the objects. Also, adding feeder terminals to the network is now easier, and protection capabilities can be conveniently defined with an editor.
