Trimble UX Summit 2019 was the first of its kind and brought together professionals from US, New Zealand, India, UK, Finland, and the Netherlands. The people behind the summit have a clear mission: to improve UX culture at Trimble. They believe that the effort put into the subject will lead to better products, more satisfied customers, and of course, an ever-more-appealing workplace for high performing UX practitioners.
By the sound of it, Tuukka agrees with the mission. “I found the summit very interesting and useful, and it was great to see what people do with different solutions in various industries. The summit sessions covered a range of projects, product planning, and style issues – most of them software related,” Tuukka explains. “Efforts have been made to reach consistency in our look and feel and in our style guides across Trimble,” he continues. “And it’s good to see that this is starting to happen.”
Tuukka, whose background is a combination of Graphic and Industrial Design, sees great value in knowledge sharing. “It only makes sense to leverage the work others have done and reuse content when you can. It’s one of the benefits of peer collaboration in a large company that even when you work separately you can still make the most of working together.”
